Rachel Geissler is an Associate Attorney at Hatch Rockers Immigration in Durham, North Carolina, where she practices immigration law. Before joining Hatch Rockers, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joe L. Webster in the Middle District of North Carolina.

 

Rachel graduated from UNC School of Law in 2020. While in law school, she was a staff editor on the North Carolina Law Review, a fellow with the ACLU of North Carolina and The Human Trafficking Institute, and a summer intern with the Southern Coalition for Social Justice and Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Farmworker Unit. She also represented families facing eviction in Durham County through the UNC Civil Legal Assistance Clinic.

Prior to law school, Rachel worked for three years as a paralegal at the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago and lived in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico for one year through the U.S. Fulbright Program. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2013 with degrees in Spanish and Anthropology. During college, she studied abroad in Lima, Peru and Oaxaca, Mexico.

 

Rachel is from South Bend, Indiana and lives with her spouse, baby, dog and chickens in Chapel Hill.
